FIBA Asia Cup: Lebanon top New Zealand for second straight win

New Zealand - Lebanon 72-86

Lebanon claimed the second straight win in Jakarta. They topped New Zealand to stay undefeated in Group D. Wael Arakji (194-G-1994) scored 25 points and issued 7 assists to lead the winners.
New Zealand sank 22 points in the first period to open a 5-point lead. Lebanon however turned things around in the second frame. They spurred ahead to take a 39-36 halftime advantage. Lebanon extended the lead to 4 points at the final intermission. They drained 29 points in the fourth period and rallied to the victory at the end. Hayk Gyokchyan (203-F-1990, college: F&M) tossed in 19 points for Lebanon. Takiula Fahrensohn (201-G-1999, college: Portland, agency: Haylett Sports) produced 21 points, while Kruz Perrott-Hunt (190-G-2000, college: S.Dakota) notched 10 points in the loss.
